Fill the frame with the damage.

Leaf, fruit, pod or stem. Bright daylight works best.

Before you shoot

A sharp photo gets a sharp answer

The diagnosis only sees what’s in the frame. Thirty seconds on the photo is the surest way to a report you can act on.

  • Get close to the damage

Fill the frame with the affected leaf, fruit, pod or stem. A whole plant or a whole field is too far away to read spots, rot and holes.

  • Daylight, no flash

Shoot outside or near an open door. Flash washes out colour, and deep shade hides the yellowing, spotting and rot that point to the cause.

  • Sharp on the problem

Tap the screen on the spots, mould, holes or rot before you take the picture. If it looks blurry, take it again.

  • Show the worst of it

Pick the most damaged part, not the healthy one beside it. Check the undersides of leaves and the inside of cut fruit. If there’s mould, insects or rot there, scan that too.

Use it well

A fast first opinion, not a lab result.

It can be wrong

One photo can’t show everything. Early symptoms, blurry pictures and problems that start in the roots or soil are the hardest to read. If the report doesn’t match what you see in the field, trust the field.

Check before you spray

Confirm the problem with an extension officer or agro-dealer before buying chemicals. Follow the label dose, wear protection and keep to the waiting time before harvest.
